  4. Education & Skill Requirements Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Suggested Accounting, Business, Finance, Mathematics Math Courses strongly recommended Calculus, Probability, and Statistics Actuarial Exams are required for advancement

  5. Actuarial Exams Four Preliminary Exams Probability, financial math, Economical math, Actuarial Model Exams last for two to four hours Every hour of exam time, 100 hours of study time Some companies pay for employee exams Can take four to eight years to complete all exams

  6. Advancement Potential • Becoming the head of department • High ranking officer for company • Depends on experience and Exams passed • Type of company and region helps determine advancement

  7. Typical Day Actuaries day can vary Traveling is possible Working behind a desk Long hours and greater than 40 hours/week

  8. Salary Starting around 40k a year Top level actuaries can range 200-300k Two major components to salary Experience Exams passed Type of company and region will contribute
