Difference between Health and Wellness • WHO definition - a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity (1948-2003) • Adams, Bezner & Steinhardt (1997) – “The sense that one is living in a manner that permits the experience of consistent, balanced growth in the physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social, and psychological dimensions of human existence” HEALTH WELLNESS

  4. Who is responsible for my wellness? • Let us learn a new concept, Personal Responsibility. • Now, that we got that out of the way, we are going to give you the tools to manage YOUR wellness. • You only have one chance at life, don’t let others, your environment, and your past dictate how well you live.

  5. You need to work on everything at the same time.

  6. Gain Momentum • Do little things • Gain confidence • Do more little things • Gain more confidence • Take on bigger projects • succeed

  7. It can be done. It is not easy, but it can be done • YOU feel better • YOU look better • YOU are more productive • YOU are more attentive • YOU have more energy • YOU are a better….. • YOU can live the life you were meant to live • Things don’t change • Things keep getting worse • You get a chronic disease or two • You feel tired • You don’t have time • Life is slowly slipping through your fingers Why the effort? What if I don’t?
