How To Remove It Completely • File Association Helper is a free software, it’s package consists of 5 files (fah.exe, fahwindow.exe, fahconsole.exe and Fahwindow.exe). When you install WinZip on your computer, it will also install File Association Helper component, you will see it’s process FAHwindow.exe constantly running under the Processes tab in the Task Manager. It doesn’t any of the malicious files, but it’s not user-friendly in terms of removal. In this article, I will tell you how to uninstall File Association Helper on Windows 7/8/10.

HOW TO UNINSTALL FILE ASSOCIATION HELPER ON WINDOWS 7/8/10? • Step 1. First of all, you open Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete button on your keyboard. • Step 2. Then, you terminate all applications related to File Association Helper that might be running in the background. • Step 3. Next, you go to Control Panel > Programs > Add/Remove Programs. When the list of installed programs opens, you need to locate File Association Helper and uninstall it. • Step 4. If a pop-up window will show up asking whether you are sure to remove the program, you select OK. • Step 5. Now, you open Windows Registry Editor. To do that, you right-click the Start button and click Run. Then in the search box, you type the following regedit and hit Enter. • Step 6. Move on, you find one of the registry editors: • (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\File Association Helper)(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\egui)(KEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\File Association Helper) • Step 7. At this step, you delete each of them by clicking on them and pressing Delete button. • Step 8. You go to Start menu > Control Panel > Folder > Show Hidden Files and Folders. • Step 9. You need to find such folders: • (C:\Program Files\File Association Helper)(C:\Documents and Settings\%USER%\Application Data\program name)(C:\Document and Settings\All Users\Application Data\program name) • Step 10. If you find any of them, you click on them and press Delete. • Step 11. Finally, you can Exit all programs then restart your computer.
