  1. My Relationship With My Mom! By: MarlanaPresznyak

  2. Overview of the relationship (how long have you known the person, what sort of relationship is it – family, friend, etc.): • I’ve known my mother since the day I was born; we have a very close mother-daughter relationship.

  3. What does this relationship look like from the INSIDE? How would you describe this relationship? What is something that others don’t see or understand about this relationship? • My mother and I have a very close relationship. I tell her absolutely everything most of the time. I spend a lot of time with her. Sometimes we might fight, but at the end of the day, we always end up apologizing to each other.  • Others don’t see that my mother and I are actually very close, and they don’t understand how much time we actually spend talking about things.

  4. Choose a symbol to represent this relationship. Explain what symbol you have chosen and why. • My relationship with my mom can be represented by 2 birds. We fly together most of the time, and sometimes separate and do things on our own as well. Sometimes we don’t get a long, and argue over something, but in the end we over-come in because we care about each other a lot.

  5. What do you feel are the greatest strengths of this relationship? Is it a shared love of an activity, is it moving towards a common goal, is it mutual love and support? List at least three – five strengths that make this a healthy relationship. • The greatest strength of this mother-daughter relationship is trust. My mom trusts me with almost anything, and we share mutual support. • 4 strengths: Trust, love, support, understanding.

  6. How does this relationship benefit you? • Being trusting and telling my mom a lot of things benefits me by having my mom let me go out and do things usually whenever I want. She usually always says yes when I go out, as long as I tell her what I’m doing and who I’m going to be with. Ex. Mall with friends, parties, walking to the beach.

  7. How does this relationship affect others? • It shows others that when you talk to your mom or even dad about things, it gains trust, which makes it so you can go out and do things without them worrying or not letting you.

  8. In a well-written, descriptive paragraph, share a complication/issue/problem that has occurred in your relationship and explain how you overcame this difficulty: • Sometimes my mom and I argue. There are times when we fight over the stupidest things, or when I go out without even telling her I’m leaving. It makes her worry about me, and sometimes not fully trust me. We over-came this by me always telling her when I’m going to be leaving the house, and checking back with her by either calling her, or texting her cell phone.

  9. List three things you do to ensure this relationship stays healthy: • I communicate with her a lot (talk to her about basically everything), I go to her for advice, and I spend a lot of time with her. 
