  1. Austria • The official language in Austria is German. Regionally people also speak Slovene, Croatian and Hungarian.

  3. Bulgaria • The official language in Bulgaria is Bulgarian. Bulgarian is an Indo-European language and a member of the Southern branch of the Slavic language family, like Slovene and Serbo-Croatian.

  4. Croatia • The official language in Croatia is Croatian. It is a standardized variety of the Serbo-Croatian language. Croatian is written in Gaj’s Latin alphabet.

  5. Cyprus • The official languages in Cyprus are Greek and Turkish. Turkish is the most widely spoken of the Turkic languages, with over 63 million native speakers. Seakers are located predominantly in Turkey, with smaller groeps in Germany, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Northern Cyprus, Greece and other parts of Eastern europe, Caucasus and Central Asia.

It belongs to the Finnic branch og the Uralic language family.

It modifies and inflects nouns, adjectives, pronouns, numerals and verbs, depending on their roles in the sentence

  13. Hungary • The official language in Hungary is Hungarian. Outsid Hungary it is also spoken by communities of hungarian people in neighboring contries, especially in Romania, Slovakia, Serbia and Ukraine/and by Hungarian diaspora around the world.

Irish, or Gaelic is a Goidelic language of the Indo-European languages family, originating in Ireland and historically spoken by the Irish people. Unlike most other Romanic languages, Italian retains Latin’s contrast between short and long consonants. As in most Romanisg languages, stress is distinctive. Amongthe Romanic languages, Italian is the closest to Latin in terms of vocabulary.

  16. Latvia • The official language of Lativa is Latvian. Latvian is the official state language of Latvia. It is also sometimes referred to as Lettish. There are about 1.2 million native Latvian speakers in Latvia and 100 thousand abroad. Altogether, 1.9 million, or 79% of the population of Latvia, speak Latvian. Of those, 1.2 million use it as their primary language at home. The use of the Latvian language in various areas of social life in Latvia is increasing.Latvianis a Baltic language and is most closely related to Lithuanian, although the two are not mutually intelligible. In addition there is some disagreement whether Latgalian and New Curonian, which are mutually intelligible with Latvian, should be considered varieties or separate languages.

  17. Lithuania • The official language of Lithuania is Lithuanian. Lithuanian is the official state language of Lithuania and is recognized as one of the official languages of the European Union. There are about 3.2 million native Lithuanian speakers in Lithuania and about 200,000 abroad. Lithuanian is a Baltic language, closely related to Latvian, although they are not mutually intelligible. It is written in a Latin alphabet. The Lithuanian language is often said to be the most conservative living Indo-European language, retaining many features of Proto-Indo-European now lost in other Indo-European languages.

  18. Luxembourg • The official languages of Luxembourg are Luxembourgish, English and German. Luxembourgish is a Moselle Franconian laguage that is spoken mainly in Luxembourg. About 400.000 people worldwide speak Luxemboergish. Luxembourgish belong to the West Central German group of High German languages.

  19. Malta • The official languages of Malta are Maltese and English. Maltese is the national language of Malta and a co-official language of the country alongside English, while also serving as an official language of the European Union, the only semitic language so distinguished. Maltese is a descended from Siculo-arabic ( the Arabic dialect that developed in Sicily and later in Malta, between the end of the ninth century and the end of the twelfth century). About half of the vocabulary is borrowed from Italian and Sicillian. English words make up between 6 and 20 procent of the Maltese vocabulary, according to different estimates. It is the only Semitic language written in the Latin script in its standard form.

  20. The Netherlands • The official language of the Netherlands is Dutch. Regionally people also speak Frisian, Limburgish, Dutch Low Saxon, English and Papiamento. Dutch is a West Germanic language and the native language of most of the population of the Netherlands, and about sixty percent of the populations of Belgium and Surinam , the three member states of the Dutch language Union. Most speakers live in the European Union, where it is a first language for about 23 million and a second language for another 5 million people. Dutch also holds official status in the Caribbean island nations of Aruba, Curacao, and Sint-Maarten, while Dutch or dialects assigned to it continue to be spoken, in parts of France and Germany, and to a lesser extent, in Indonesia, and up to half a million native Dutch speakers may be living in the United States, Canada, and Australia. The Cape Dutch dialect of Southern Africa have been standardized into Afrikaans a partially mutually intelligible daughter language which today is spoken by estimated total of 15 to 23 million people in South Africa and Namibia.

  21. Poland • The official language of Poland is Polish. Polish is a language of the Lechiticsubgroup of West Slavic languages, used throughout Poland (being that country's official language) and by Polish minorities in other countries. Its written standard is the Polish alphabet, which has several additions to the letters of the basic Latin script. Despite the pressure of non-Polish administrations in Poland (during the 19th and early 20th centuries) resulting from Partitions of Poland, who often attempted to suppress the Polish language, a rich literature has developed over the centuries, and the language is currently the largest, in terms of speakers, of the West Slavic group. It is also the second most widely spoken Slavic language, after Russian and ahead of Ukrainian.

  22. Portugal • The official language of Portugal is Portugese. Regionally people also speak Mirandese. Portuguese is a Romantic language and the sole official language of Portugal, Brasil, Mozambique, Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, and Sao Tomé and Príncipe. It also has co-official language status in Macau (China), Equatorial Guina and East Timor. As the result of expansion during colonial times, Portuguese speakers are also found in Goa, Daman and Diu in India, in Batticaloa on the east coast of Sri Lanka, and in Malacca in Malaysia.

  23. Romania • The official language of Romania is Romanian. Romanian is a Romantic language spoken by around 24 million people as a native language, primarily in Romania and Moldova, and by another 4 million people as a second language. It has official status in Romania, the Republic of Moldova, the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina in Serbia, and in the autonomous Mount Athos in Greece. Romanian speakers are scattered across many other countries, notably Australia, Italy, Spain, Ukraine, Bulgaria, the United States, Canada, Argentina, Israel, Russia, Portugal, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.

  24. Slovakia • The official language of Slovakia is Slovak. Slovak is an Indo-European language that belongs to the West Slavic languages (together with Czech, Polish, Silesian, Kashubian, and Sorbian). Slovak is the official language of Slovakia where it is spoken by approximately 4.6 million people (2001). Slovak speakers are also found in the United States, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Ireland, Romania, Poland, Canada, Hungary, Croatia, the United Kingdom, Australia, Austria, and Ukraine.

  25. Slovenia • The official language of Slovenia is Slovene. Slovene or Slovenian belongs to the group of South Slavic languages. It is spoken by approximately 2.5 million speakers worldwide, the majority of whom live in Slovenia. It is the first language of about 1.85 million people and is one of the 24 official and working languages of the European languages of the European Union. Slovene is know as the most diverse Slavic language in terms of dialect.

  26. Spain • The official language of Spain is Spanish. Regionally, people also speak Basque, Catalan, Galician and Occitan. Spanish , also called Castilian , is a Romantic Language that originated in Castile, a region of Spain. Approximately 406 million people speak Spanish as a native language, making it second only to Mandarin in terms of its number of native speakers worldwide. It also has 60 million speakers as a second language, and 20 million students as a foreign language. Spanish is one of the six official languages of the United Nations, and is used as an official language by the European Union and Mercosur

  27. Sweden • The official language of Sweden is Swedish. Swedish is a North Germanic language, spoken by approximately 8.7 million people worldwide, predominantly in Sweden and parts of Finland, where it has equal legal standing with Finnish. It is largely mutually intelligible with Norwegian and Danish. Along with the other North Germanic languages, Swedish is a descendant of Old Norse, the common language of the Germanic peoples living in Scandinavia during the Viking Era. It is currently the largest of the North Germanic languages by numbers of speakers.

It is the thirs most common native language, after Mandarin Chinese and Spanish
