  2. welcome Welcome to Camp Zoneat Chesterbrook Academy Camp Zone® offers fun-filled summer programs for children ages 5-12.Each week, campers jump into action, participating in exciting sports programs, exploring nature, becoming involved in performing and creative arts, playing a part in group activities, and attending special events. Our campers have the opportunity to expand their horizons during the summer, embarking on new adventures, and having fun! Our exceptional program and dedicated staff create an environment that forges lifelong friendships among our campers. We create a summer experience that is unforgettable! It all starts with our outstanding camp counselors.A camp is only as good as its staff, and we are extremely proud of ours. Talent, creativity, love of children, leadership and devotion make our camp counselors the heart and soul of the program. We take our camp programs seriously and begin our summer with intensive staff training and orientation. Camp Zone® counselors and specialists are doing exactly what they enjoy most: spending a summer inspiring campers to explore, reach for new heights, and expand their horizons. Camp Zone® gives you choices. Camp Zone® includes five days of activities, from 8:30am – 4:30 pm. You can choose to add extended hours and specialty camps to your menu of summer fun. We offer a range of outdoor activities, plus indoor activities conducted in our fully air conditioned facility. Our specialty camps are optional programs, operating during regular camp hours, which provide even more choices for unique and exciting adventures.   3. highlights The Camp Zone Experience Sample Daily Schedule NEW this Year! • “Discover This…”- All Campers • STEM- Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Designed to promote effective and relevant connections between camp classroom and hands on content thus providing learning opportunities for campers: • Weather Station: Budding meteorologists will learn all about Earth's climate with this multi-functional weather station! • Digging Up Dinosaurs: The Diggin' Up Dinosaurs T-Rex kit gives campers the opportunity to not only dig up a Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton, but also to learn valuable and interesting facts about the time when dinosaurs ruled the Earth. • Snap Circuit Jr.:Whether or not your child has a prior interest in electronics, this is the kit to get them excited about it. • Extreme Secret Formulas: Your aspiring chemical engineer will dive right into the over-the-top chemistry set that is the SmartLab Extreme Secret Formula Lab kit. • Forensic Fingertips: Perfect for the camp classroom, kids can play private eye with the Forensics Fingerprint Lab from Thames & Kosmos. Kids can practice elements of real forensic science as they learn how to collect actual fingerprints like the professionals do. • “Street” Hockey- All Campers • Street hockey is a variation of the sport of ice hockey where the game is played on foot or with inline skates or roller skates. The object of the game is to score more goals than the opposing team by shooting a ball or puck into the opposing team's net. Specialty Specialty Camp Descriptions SoccerAges 5 to 8 Ages 9 -12 Sports camp will be a fun-filled program which will provide campers with two opportunities to better meet the needs of children with similar ages. Campers learn valuable skills with concentration on the various skills associated with each mini-camp. A list of any safety equipment campers will need for each sports camp will be provided. Dates: TBD (Different mini-camps will be offered throughout the summer) Time: 10:30 am —11:30 am Cost $TBD Cooking Ages 8 to 12 Get creative with FOOD! Campers will be discovering the world around them through food. They will be cooking and creating new delicious recipes in Cooking Camp. Dates: TBD Time: 10:30 am—11:30 am Cost: $65 per week DanceAges 5 to 12 Campers will learn all the moves from the latest popular dance craze. The students will learn how to develop choreography while adding syncopation, staccato style movement, basic kick and jump moves – all to great music. Dates: TBD Time: 2:00 pm—2:45 pm Cost: $120 per week SpanishAges 5 to 12 Hola! Campers will be learning conversational Spanish. They will be focused on specific phrases and vocabulary words each week. Watch as they use the summer to expand their horizons. Dates: TBD Time: 10:30am — 11:30am Cost: $55 per week Science Lab Ages 5 to 12 Have fun with wacky experiments! Our Science camp is designed to keep those creative minds working. The campers will be taking part in fun experiments to learn about scientific facts and principals. . Dates: TBD Time: 10:30 am — 11:30 am Cost: $55 per week Karate camp Ages 5 to 12 Staying safe! Our campers will be learning basic karate concepts and moves. They will be lead by an experienced instructor. This camp keeps them fit and focused. Dates: TBD Time: 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Cost: $55 per week
