Smoke Effect. Jesus P 2-2-12 Period 1. First step. Go to File>New (unlock background) Go to Layer>Layer style>Gradient Overlay(use radial style). Second Step. Apply the preferred text then go to Filter>Blur>Motion Blur Its Recommended to have a 90  and a distance of 40 pixels.

  1. Smoke Effect Jesus P 2-2-12 Period 1

  2. First step • Go to File>New (unlock background) • Go to Layer>Layer style>Gradient Overlay(use radial style)

  3. Second Step • Apply the preferred text then go to Filter>Blur>Motion Blur • Its Recommended to have a 90 and a distance of 40 pixels

  4. Third Step • Go to Filter>Distort>Wave • For Generators use 3, 10 and 346 for Wavelength, 5 and 35 for Amplitude

  5. Fourth step • Go to Filter>Blur>Guassian Blur • Use 10 pixels for the radius • Group the layer and change Blend mode to Color dodge

  6. Fifth Step • Make a new layer and place at top • Go to Filter>Render>Clouds • Go to Layer>Layer Mask>Reveal All

  7. Sixth Step • Hide some cloud area with soft brush, 0% hardness and black • Make new folder on layers palette • Change Blend mode to Color dodge and add new layer in it • Use smoke brushes from Qbrushes and us e white

  8. Seventh Step • Paint more strokes for a realistic look

  9. Eighth Step • Make new layer beneath all layers except for background layer • Fill with black and go to Filter>Texture>Texturize • Use 100% for scaling and 4 for relief • For texture use Canvas and Light use top and change opacity to 10%
