The Border Information Flow Architecture (BIFA) Pilot Project Funding Program, developed by Transport Canada and U.S. agencies, aims to improve border crossing operations. This program provides up to 50% funding (up to $500,000) for various pilot projects, including traveller information systems, traffic management, and commercial vehicle operations. Notable projects include regional architectures in New Brunswick/Maine and a traveller information system in Manitoba. Future funding extensions are being solicited, and proposals are encouraged to enhance cross-border transportation efficiency.
