In this engaging art project, we began by completing our family tree worksheet, celebrating our heritage. Next, we explored color mixing to create unique shades for our artwork. We practiced drawing koru designs with chalk on newsprint, followed by pencil and crayon illustrations of our family trees. Our draft copies were painted with care, and we created vibrant backgrounds using thick crayon lines and dye. To add meaning, we wrote stories about our family members, which we typed on the laptop and printed for display.
