  3. College of Business Academic Advising Advising is an integral part of a student’s academic success. The university has developed an advising structure that assists students with a smooth transition as they progress from their first year to the second year and beyond to their graduating semester. • Freshmen will be assigned a first year advisor for their freshman year. • At the completion of the second semester, freshmen students will be transitioned to their college advising offices through a university sponsored event called “College Connections: Advisors on Location.” • Sophomore and second year freshmen students who have not yet chosen a specific major (Undeclared) receive assistance from the Sophomore & Second Year Center in course scheduling and major exploration.

Disqualification A student on academic probation is disqualified upon failure to achieve a minimum 2.0 GPA during the subsequent term. A student who is disqualified may not enroll at the University for two semesters following disqualification. Readmission after two semesters is not automatic. Disqualified students are required to complete the Florida AA degree and all of the College of Business prerequisites prior to petitioning for readmission. Exclusion Exclusion is most serious and students are not eligible for readmission after Exclusion.

Accounting Students must Maintain academic progress in the major Students in the Accounting major must maintain a 2.0 or higher GPA average in all 3000-4000 level Accounting or Tax courses taken at UCF.
