  1. The Best Places To Visit Santa

  2. Piglet's Adventure Farm: York Taking place every day from the end of November until Christmas, Piglet's Adventure Farm offers one of the most magical days out for toddlers, topped off with a visit to Santa! After arriving at the ‘elf airlines' sleigh port, children get to write their letter to Santa and see their name on the departure board, before riding in the sleigh to Santa's grotto.

  3. Winter Wonderland: London No Christmas trip list is complete without mentioning Winter Wonderland. Every year, Hyde Park is turned into a magical Christmas extravaganza. Entry to Winter Wonderland and ‘Santa Land' within are both free. The grotto is open to visit 10am to 6pm every day, and runs on a first-come-first-served basis. So expect some queues! But when it's free to visit, and includes a free present, it can be worth the wait.

  4. Brecon Mountain Railway: Brecon The ‘Santa Special' at Brecon Mountain Railway is celebrating its 30th year of fantastic, festive fun! Should you visit Santa here? It really is a visit to Santa the kids won't forget, as they get to ride the ‘Santa Special' steam train to see Father Christmas himself! Children also receive a present, provided they've been very good this year.

  5. Wyevale Garden Centres: Around the UK You might be surprised to find this on our list, as you might not think of a trip to the garden centre as a grand day out. However several Wyevale sites up and down the country opening grottos and offering a visit to Father Christmas, so you're sure to find one near you. Each venue runs a special arrival parade for Santa on the 18th, making a spectacular treat.

  6. LaplandUK: Ascot If you want to take part in a more extravagant, theatrical day out then look into visiting LaplandUK. If you can't guess from the name, LaplandUK has spent the last 10 years recreating Santa's home in the middle of an English forest. Going here isn't just a visit to Santa, it's an immersive, theatrical experience.
