Observations You must attend two thirds of the Dark Sky Observing Nights:Thursday January 30 Tuesday February 25Monday March 3 Wednesday March 26Monday March 31 Wednesday April 23All Dark Sky Observing Nights start at 8:30pm and are weather dependent. Cancellation notices will be posted on the APSU Astronomy website by 5:00pm on the day of the observation You must also attend at least one of the 1st Quarter Observing Nights:Thursday February 6 @ 7:30pm Monday April 7 @ 8:30pm At the observing nights you will be expected to help set-up and take down the equipment.

  5. Exams 3regular exams worth 20% each.15-20 multiple choice questionsand 3-5 essays The tentative exam dates are: Wednesday February 19 Monday March 31 Monday May 5

  6. Projects Two term projects of significant length will be required for the course. The topic of the first project will be an enhanced book review and will be due Wednesday March 5 (the Wednesday before Spring Break). The subject of the second project is to be an individual, event or series of events of historical importance to astronomy or the history of astronomy of a non-western culture. The second project will be due Wednesday April 30. Both projects will require both a written paper and an oral presentation to the class of approximately 10 minutes in length.
