DEFINITION: to move one's feet or body, or both, rhythmically in a pattern of steps, especially to the accompaniment of music. 2
History: • Jazz- The period between 1985 to 1993 was believed to be the golden age of hip-hop. Some of the different forms of hip-hop dance include Harlem shake, snap dance, gangsta walking. • Hip-Hop- Jazz originated at the close of the nineteenth century in the seamy dance halls and brothels of the South and Midwest where the word “Jazz” commonly referred to sexual intercourse. • Swing- The history of swing dates back to the 1920's, where the black community, while dancing to contemporary Jazz music, discovered the Charleston and the Lindy Hop.
