LMP for G.7714.1 and G.8080 Discovery • G.7714.1 defines procedures for discovery and connectivity verification of transport resources ONLY • Control plane discovery is out of scope • Facilitated by the separation of transport and control plane names • LMP “Link Connectivity verification” procedure is partly the equivalent to G.7714.1 • Transport resources are not explicitly discovered in LMP • Transport and control plane names are the same. • Issues with Jx encoding for transport of test messages • ITU-T Liaison to IETF for potential use of LMP messages in G.7714.1 • LMP “Link Property Correlation” procedure is more related to ASON control plane discovery • Control plane discovery is now part of G.8080 amendment • LMP messages and procedures can potentially be used.
