This presentation by Liam and Meghan explores the fundamental concepts of potential and kinetic energy in physics. Potential energy is defined as the energy stored in a body or system due to its position or arrangement, exemplified by a piece of wood poised to fall. Conversely, kinetic energy pertains to motion, with examples like a book falling or a rollercoaster descending a hill. The presentation highlights the differences and interrelationship between these two forms of energy, providing a clear understanding of how they function in physical systems.

Potential Energy • This is the definition of potential energy. • Noun Physics . the energy of a body or a system with respect to the position of the body or the arrangement of the particles of the system • Potential energy is energy at rest or energy that is waiting to be released like, a piece of wood is an example of potential energy and then when it falls it is kinetic energy.
Kinetic Energy • This is the definition of kinetic energy: • [ki-net-ik, kahy-] Show IPA –adjective 1. pertaining to motion. 2. caused by motion. 3. characterized by movement: Running and dancing are kinetic activities. • Kinetic energy is like a rollercoaster going downn a hill or a book falling off a desk, kinetic energy is an object at motion
