Enhancing Barcode Scanner Integration for CURE International's Database System

This document outlines the concept of operations for a series of incremental improvements to CURE International's database system. Increment 1 focuses on developing a software interface for barcode scanner hardware, enabling data transfer to the database. Increment 2 aims to enhance the system's functionality and user experience by adding new forms, queries, and reports. Finally, Increment 3 will provide a modernized user interface and potentially allow remote data entry into the database. These enhancements will streamline operations and improve data accessibility.

  4. Increment 1: Barcode Scanner Interface and Implementation • Take the barcode hardware and write a software interface to connect it to the computer and transfer its data in the database. • Increment 2: Tweaks and Reports • Expand the functionality and flexibility of the current database as well as add new forms and queries/reports. • Increment 3: Facelift • Finalize a “facelift” for the forms and the user interface with the program. • May include implementation for sending data into the database from a remote site.
