  1. 5th Grade Open House 2014-2015 Mr. Kongshaug

  2. Welcome to Open House 2014-2015! My name is Mr. Kongshaug, and I will be your child’s homeroom teacher for the upcoming school year. We will have reading, math, spelling, and science in this room. Please find your name on the front of one of the desks. There is a yellow welcome sheet with some directions to follow. (I apologize for including the wrong years on the top of this sheet. It should read 2014-2015.) If you have any questions, please ask! Thank you!

  3. Supplies can be placed in your child’s desk or locker in the hallway (names are on the lockers). Please find a post-it note on top of your assignment notebook. Write your name and place the post-it on the front of or in front of the bin you would like to use for the whole year. *Hint: They do get heavy once filled, so choose wisely!* Please do not place any items in the bins yet. We will organize items the first day of school.

  4. Items to take home: Open House letter Blue packet to be completed and returned the first week of school! Green characteristics sheet. File folder to be completed and returned during the first week of school!

  5. About Your Teacher This is my fifth year teaching and second year with New Prague Area Schools. I have taught 1st, 4th, and 5th grades. I graduated from Winona State University with a degree in elementary education and additional licenses in middle school mathematics and social studies. In my free time, I enjoy teaching and traveling in Europe, watching and playing sports (GO PACKERS!), and spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy learning about history and geography. I am very excited to get the new school year started. I look forward to getting to know each of you as the year goes along. Together we will make this a great year in 5th grade!

Please watch for additional information coming home the first few weeks of school which will include class schedules, website information, a welcome packet to be reviewed together at home, and items to be returned to the office.
