EPIDEMIOLOGÍA • CoAo congénita constituye una de las más frecuentes causas de IC en RN. • La CoAoconforma un 5-10% de las cardiopatías congénitas de los RN vivos. • Es 2 a 5 veces más frecuente en varones que en mujeres. • Puede asociarse en ocasiones a otras anomalías. • En el 98% de los casos la atresia se sitúa justo por debajo del origen de la arteria subclavia izquierda. • Se observa en tanto como 50% de los pacientes con la anomalía de Taussig-Bing, una base genética o familiar de niños con síndrome de Turner. ELECTROCARDIOGRAMA • Crecimiento del VI con sobrecarga sistólica. • Puede ser normal en casos tempranos o en coartaciones ligeras. • No es raro que se asocie a bloqueo incompleto de la rama derecha del haz de Hiss.   20. RADIOGRAFÍA DE TÓRAX • Presencia de fenestraciones en el borde inferior de las costillas (3ª-9ª) producto que la erosión de las AIC ingurgitadas le producen (Signos de Röesler). • Botón aórtico prominente. • Aorta descendente desenrrollada. • Sitio de coartación “3 invertido” a nivel de aorta torácica descendente. • Desplazamiento del esofagograma con bario, por la dilatación posestenótica. • Corazón de tamaño normal con signos de hipertrofia concéntrica (punta redondeada).
