  2. Celtsuncovered • The Celts were people who lived in Europe from eighth century BC to the first century AD. They had a common language and culture, but lived in separate Tribes each with own leader

  3. fighters THE CELTS FAVOURITE WEAPONS WERE THEIR SWORD. FROM A YOUNG AGE BOYS WERE TRAINED TO USE IRON WEAPONS OF WAR. THEY FOUGHT ON FOOT OR IN CHARIOTS. AFTER THE BATTLE CELTIC WARRIORS WOULD OFTEN CUT THE HEADS OF THEIR ENEMIES OFF.

  5. CLOTHING CELTIC CLOTHES WERE PRACTICAL . MEN WORE LONG SHIRTS FASTNED WITH BROOCHES. THES WERE WORN OVER WOOLEN TROUSERS CALLED BRACAE. WOMEN WORE LONG ROBES WITH A BELT TIDE IN THE MIDDLE AND A CLOAK IN THE IN COLD WEATHER ........................

  6. Wattle and daub Wattle and daub was a method used by the Celts to build their houses. First stakes were firmly placed in the ground. Branches called wattles were then woven in and out of the stakes. Finally, the branches were covered in mud. This was called wattle and daub.

  7. `celtic writing The Celts in Ireland wrote on stone. This type of writing was called ogham. There are 20 letters in the ogham alphabet , each made of straight lines the writing was read from the ground upwards.

  8. festivals The Celts celebrated four festivals each year. The two most important festivals were SAMHAIN: Samhain was the celtic new year, celebrated on the 1st of november. It marked the end of the grazing season and of the summer. It was a time of magic!

  9. Beltane [ festivels] Beltane was on the was on the 1st of may. I T Marked the day when the cattle went out into open grazing having been sheltered for the winter . These festivals were celebrated with banquets where there was much eating drinking and music
