  2. Using a Table Find the unit rate for each set of data in the table. If the unit rates are the same for each entry, then the relationship is proportional. If the unit rates are different, then the relationship is not proportional

  3. Using a Graph If a graph is showing a proportional relationship, it will: Be a straight line Cross through the origin of the graph

  4. Example 1: Proportional Relationship This is a proportional relationship. There is a constant unit rate of $12 per hour.

  5. Example 2: Non-Proportional Relationship This is not a proportional relationship. There is not a constant rate of change.
