  1. Drunk Driving I'm against drunk driving because there are many accidents each year that r caused by drinking and driving.

  2. www.kyvl.org Managing unsafe drivers and their unsafe habits • There are about 18,000 people that die each year in the U.S. as a result of drinking and driving. • Also the ones that are arrested for drinking and driving 1/3 of them will be arrested again for the same thing.

  3. Managing unsafe drivers and there unsafe habits • Many of these drivers believe that since they are experienced drinkers the effects of alcohol do not apply to them, but they are wrong one of the first things that are affected by alcohol is reaction time. For an average adult the reaction time is about three quarters of a second with one drank it doubles the reaction time.

  4. Managing unsafe drivers and there unsafe habits • There are many people that have been drinking and when they get cought and get humilited by being arrested you would think that they would quit drinking and driving but 1/3 of them don’t. some of them just do it for a habit and some of them are addicted to it. But they need to get help or just quit drinking and driving because many innocent people are getting hurt or killed because of drunk driving.

  5. www.kyvl.org Alcohol consumption Drunk driving • Some people are addicted to drinking and driving and some might just do it to be cool or peer pressure but you should not drink and drive no matter what the case is because when you drink and drive you are putting yourself and other innocent people in harm way.

  6. Alcohol consumption drunk driving • When people drink and drive they are twice the times of getting in an accident according to sustitics. The percentage of people getting killed each year in an accident will go down probably as much as 50 percent if we could stop drinking and driving all together.

  7. Drunk driving Every year there is a lot of people getting killed by drinking and driving . And people who drink and drive is also getting innocent people killed also so if you drink don’t drive. One reason why it is so hard to stop people from drinking and driving is because theres just a few people who get caught that’s why I think we should keep road blocks set up everywhere so we can eventually stop the drinking and driving.

  8. www.kyvl.org (DWI) offenders • A set of science based a 10 year national objective to promote health and prevent drinking and driving. By 2020 they wont to decrease the rate of alcohol impaired driving facilities and increase the number of driving while impaired. And I think it is a good idea because we need to cut out drinking and driving as a whole because its getting people killed and killing people.

  9. (DWI) offenders • People who report driving within 2 hours of drinking in the past year not only drink in greater frequency but in also greater quantities per sitting then those who do not drive after drinking. And more then two thirds of them goes to court because they are drinking and driving and 2/3 of them exceed the blood alcohol concentration above 0.15 and they get arrested . That’s why there are so many fatilities because people ant drinking smart if you drink you shouldn’t drink and drive.

  10. (DWI) offenders • Drinking and driving is getting worse and worser every year, there are more and more crashes each year and more and more facilities each year. And people who drink and drive don’t seem to care but they should because when you drink and drive you are putting your life and other peoples lives in danger so if you drink just stay home and don’t get on the road to protect your safety and the safety of others.

  11. www.kyvl.orgthe behavioral impact of drinking and driving laws • Drinking and driving presents a serious public Safety problem in the united states with over 2 million crashes involving alcohol each year and a cost estimated by the national highway traffic safety adminstration to be about 114 billion nationally.

  12. The behavioral impact of drinking and driving laws • Even though the fatality rate has dropped by half since 1982, there were about 17,000 fatilities and 250,000 injuries associated with drinking and driving in 2004. also a 2006 nhtsa study estimated that one in every 140 miles traveled in the united states is driven by someone with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or higher behind the wheel.

  13. Drinking and driving laws • With all of this being said there is still as many people drinking and driving in the us or even more then what there was a few years ago and just as many or more fatality crashes that resulted from drinking and driving.

  14. www.kyvl.org pattern of alcohol consumption and road safety • Studies show that most crashes was associated from impaired vision from drinking and driving, then the other crashes. This is why there should be more conquences for people who get caught drinking and driving so that maybe it could cut down the percentages of crashes that was caused from drinking and driving.

  15. pattern of alcohol consumption and road safety • Drinking rates are high amoung both men (72 percent)and women (60 percent) with men twice as likely as women to report they sometimes drink in amounts that they perceive too much. But unlike many property and most violent crimes , the overwhelming majority of drunk driving trips go undected, only a small percentage of impaired driving trips result in arrest, crash, or fatality that officially recorded.

  16. pattern of alcohol consumption and road safety • With all of the people that drink and drive only a few get caught and the ones that don’t get caught think they can just keep drinking and driving and think they got by one time with out getting caught they think they can do it again and people like that is what causes people to have bad crashes and what causes people to get killed by someone is by disobeying the law.

  17. WWW.kyvl.org the American journal of drug and alcohol abuse • A study of injuries related to vehicular crashes found men with higher blood alcohol levels (bals) were more likely to be frequent heavier then those with negative (bals) however another study of crash involved drivers found more frequent drinkers to be at a lower risk than less frequent drinkers at all blood alcohol levels

  18. the American journal of drug and alcohol abuse • A study of drinking found the highest risk of injury was associated with those who only occasionally drank heavily but who drank more than their usual amounts at the time, suggesting heavy episodic drinking may be more strongly related to injury than volume of drinking, and usual drinking patterns may moderate the association between acute intake and injury.

  19. the American journal of drug and alcohol abuse • Data from an emergency room (ER) study for all causes of injury found that while risk of injury increased with volume of drinking, heavy episodic drinking, and drinking in 24 hours, high volume drinkers, suggest that those who usually drank little but on occasion drank heavily were at greatest risk.
