  2. What is research?________________________________ Research is the systematic collection, analysis and interpretation of data to answer a certain question or solve a problem, discover new or collate old facts, etc. A crucial to follow cascading scientific steps when conducting one’s research

Very litle is known about quality of EM provision, and has not been explicitly addressed Research Problem Purpose Statement To study what are the quality of EM services in Lao PDR. Does health care workers provide good serivce to save trauma patients’ live at public health facilities in Laos? Specific Research Question

Research During Residency_______________________________ • Train residents to appreciate research, efforts, critically evaluate a study • Study design, methodology, statistics • Exposure to opportunities for an academic career • Some may decide to do research fellowships and pursue academic medicine
