Climate Change Initiatives: Louisville's Commitment to Sustainability

U.S Conference of Mayors Climate Protection Agreement • Mayor Jerry Abramson signed the agreement in April 2005 • Partnership for a Green City’s (PGC) mission aligned with Agreement goals • Partners include: • Louisville Metro Government • Jefferson County Public Schools • University of Louisville

  3. PGC Climate Change Committee • Climate Change Committee (CCC) of the PGC was formed in 2007 • APCD chairs the CCC • Unique from other PGC committees • Goal: Develop and recommend emission reduction strategies to PGC

  4. CCC Working Groups • Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy • Outreach & Education • Local Impacts • Utility Regulations, Policies & Practices • Land Use, Transportation & Urban Forestry • Waste • Greenhouse Gas Inventory & Mechanisms
