  2. Hand Tufted Rugs A hand-tufted rug is created by piercing strands of wool into an image or print that has been stretched on a frame using a hand-operated tool. Because they have similar properties, hand-knotted and hand-tufted rugs are frequently confused with one another. Hand-tufted rugs are less expensive because they are made in a shorter period. These rugs are not made by forming small knots, but rather by forming small tufts. It is prepared partially by hand and partially by a machine tool. The carpet is removed from the frame after piling with wool. A hand-tufted rug will have a backing to keep the tufts in place. A scrim fabric is sometimes glued to the back. A margin is added to complete the rugs by either sewing or gluing them on. However, when it comes to furnishing your home, it is a perfect option that comes with a reasonable price tag. Although it is less durable than handmade (hand-knotted) rugs.
