  3. How do you start? • Take a fun photo • Consider • Strong contrast • Focus • Save to a flash drive

  4. Let's have fun! • Use Photoshop • Save image to 8.5 x 11 • Click on layer – start new • Select Photo – copy – paste • Click on image • Choose mode • Choose grayscale

  5. Yes…. we are amost there • Click on image again • Choose adjustments • Choose posterize • Experiment to get 5 values • Plus white and black • Save image

  6. Looking for shapes… • Value changes make shapes • On your photo identify shapes create by value changes • Outline with a colored sharpie • Shapes will fit together like a puzzle • Turn over your paper and see • Trace - transfer your outlines onto poster board

  7. OK Lets Paint…. • In class we will review; • Values • Mixing tints and shades • Colors create moods • Contrast Proper set up - clean up Choose your color for monochromatic tints on skin Identify and paint light values first
