Solve the Magic Pot Problem with pictures, numbers, and words. Becky went to the supermarket to buy a package of chocolate chip cookies. There were 12 cookies in the package. If she took the package to school and put it in the Magic Pot, how many cookies will Becky have? 2. Write a story problem about a Magic Pot. You can choose anything you would like to put into the Magic Pot. Include the equation that goes with your story problem. 3. Now solve your Magic Pot problem. 4. Look around your house for 3-D shapes. Find a sphere, a cube, a rectangular prism, a cylinder, a cone and pyramid. In your journal, list the 3-D shape and the real world object that you found. Reading/Writing: Try and use these words correctly in your conversations at home. Vocabulary Words: tidy, admire, irk, chuckle, astonished, coincidence Read the story and answer each question in a complete sentence. Kelly loved playing soccer with her friends. She wanted to score a goal for her team. The ball was coming quickly towards Kelly. Kelly kicked. She scored! Kate felt exhilarated that she had helped her team. 1. What game does Kelly love to play? 2. How does Kelly want to help out her team? 3. What is a word that means the opposite of quickly? 4. Read the last sentence. What do you think exhilarated means? 5. What do you like to do in your free time?
