  2. WHAT IS AN ONLINE SERVICE? An online service refers to any sites that can help you in any way via the internet. For example, it can be anything from YouTube and Facebook, to gaming, shopping online and finding real-time information.

  3. WHAT IS REAL TIME INFORMATION? Real time information are sites that tell you everyday things that you need to find out, such as what the weather, opening times to any local shops, when flights are leaving or updates on the news around the world. Some benefits are: • It is easy to locate specific information • You can find out important information quickly such as traffic alerts and checking the weather • Companies and businesses can advertise on the sites.   4. COMMUNICATION Communication refers to anything that you can contact other people with, such as emailing, going in chat rooms and having video chats. Some benefits are: • It is a lot quicker than sending a letter • You can contact your friends easily • You can organise trips or events SKYPE TWITTER EMAIL

ENTERTAINMENT Entertainment is anything that entertains you such as music sites, TV on demand, gaming sites and uploading and watching videos.Some benefits are: • You can play games and watch programmes on long journeys • You can catch up on programs that you have missed • You can stream your television straight to your phone wherever you are.   6. BUSINESS This is a service which helps businesses contact each other, send ideas and plan events. Some benefits are: • People in different countries can communicate quickly and easily. • Most applications needed are free.

  7. VIRTUAL LEARNING DEVELOPMENT This is mainly for teachers to provide online learning for students. Some benefits are: • Teachers can easily mark work by the click of a button! • Students can do homework online instead of having papers all over the place. • It saves money and trees by saving paper!

  8. Education This refers to anything that is open to any student wanting to do revision, homework or learn any new information. Some benefits are: • It is very easy for students to revise • Anyone can find out pretty much any information they want • The teacher of a pupil would be able to see the work the student has done because most sites keep a record.

  9. DOWNLOAD SERVICES Download services can be music sites, video sites, gaming sites or app sites – basically anything that you can download onto your computer/mobile phone/online device. Some benefits are: • You can download lots of different things • It is easy to download something and then transfer it to another device • It is normally fairly cheap • Lots of variety

  10. GOVERNMENT • This is anything to do with the government such as online tax returns, e-voting, applications for services, grant and revenue collection. • Some benefits are: • You don’t have to leave your home to go and vote! • Quick and easy

  11. COMMERCE This refers to online shopping, reserving, ordering, selling and banking. Some benefits are: • You can order from the comfort of your home! • Most shops are available online as well as in store • You can order things that are out of stock in a shop and wait for them to come in. • You can cut down your search by choosing sub-categories.
