  2. Project Overview Lemonade Day Saturday, May 18th Mrs. Glover’s class will be at the First United Methodist Church for the C.A.R.E Rummage Sale from 10:00 to 2:00. Mrs. Major’s class will be at Petco from 11:00-3:00.

Skills and Standards 2.3.7 Identify the meaning or lesson of a story. 2.R1.8- Give reasoning for author’s purpose 2.RF.4- Read fluently and accurately Reading Life in the Desert Noise Level 1 Monday Open your Treasures Book to pages 160 and 161 to discuss Life in the Desert and complete the Talk About It question. Then, read “The Coatis of the Sonora Desert” to learn your new vocabulary words and discuss making author’s purpose. Tuesday Read Dig, Wait, Listen, by April Pulley Sayre. Thursday and Friday Complete the reading comprehension packet on Dig, Wait, Listen. • Materials Needed • Treasure Books • Comprehension Packets • Pencils Project Connection Animals and Lemonade Day What will happen if… I don’t get it. Our class will vote on Thursday to decide which flyers will be passed out at Lemonade Day. Your job is to create an informative flyer that will give our customers information about animals. You can choose your topic, but it must be focused on ways to learn more about animals or how to help them. Your flyer must have a title, complete sentences, and correct grammar. You may choose to add pictures, color, and the font of your choice. Remember, only 2-5 from our class will be chosen to copy for the day, so do your best work! • Materials Needed • Writing Rubric • Computers Project Connection: Animals in the community and Lemonade Day Home

Self-Selected Reading / Accelerated Reader Skills and Standards 2.1.6- Read fluently 2.2.5- Restate facts and recall information SSR and AR points Noise Level 0 • Choose a library book or a book of choice that you have not read. • Be sure you picked a book that you can read alone. • Silently read . • After you finish your book, write the name of the book in your Data Binder. • Be sure to fill in the information about your book in your binder. • If you can answer all the questions in your Data Binder, get your laptop and log on to AR to take your test. • Record your AR score in your Data Binder. . • Materials Needed • Data binder • Book of choice • Computer What will happen if… I don’t get it.
