Whole school presentation from 6.30 – 7.00pm • Meeting with tutors in classrooms 7.15pm for presentation about classroom routines • Please note that this is not a parents evening, teachers are not expected to give ‘progress reports’ about students at this early stage however can answer questions about settling in. • Meet the teacher will end at 8pm promptly to ensure that our staff can get home in a timely manner.

  4. Purpose of the Passport Key Stage 1 - Communication log Key stage 2, 3 & 4 – Homework Notes about medication, doctors appointments, uniform issues etc. Arranging meetings- either via the passport or through the reception.

  5. Communication & Parental Expectations Please ensure you have read the Parent Handbook & Home School Agreement Please ensure you contact the school regarding any changes at home that could effect your child’s learning. If your child will be staying with a relative or family friend for any period of time while you are away you must inform the school so we have accurate emergency contact details on file. School Uniform • Grey trousers, skirt or pinafore • White shirt • BSU tie • BSU blazer or V-Neck jumper • Black school shoes • Grey, white, black or Navy tights or socks • Girls - only 1 pair of stud earrings • Only plain hair bands / clips / bobbles in black, white, grey or navy • Please ensure your child has their name in ALL items of clothing

  9. Homework expectations: Homework is compulsory, it’s not an option. Homework isn’t set because we want students to have to work after school. Homework is set so that students can work independently at home and show their learning to us.

  10. Ski Trip 2014: Dates – 10th -18th April 2014 Location – Zell am See, Austria Cost per student - £2,049 (approximately 5,276,433.24MNT) Open to students in Years 6-10 For more information please pick up an information pack after the ‘meet the teacher’

  11. Accreditation: We plan to be accredited by PENTA in March 2014. We are having our initial visit from PENTA on October 21st 2013.

  12. Afternoon Collections & Morning Drop offs • Only EYFS parents to enter the KS1 corridor • Parents to collect children by 3.00pm (4.00pm if doing ECAs) every day • KS1 children to line up in the reception area • KS2 children and up to go straight to class in the mornings.

  13. Please go and speak to your child’s class teacher and ask any questions you may have about BSU or about our Teaching & Learning. Teachers will be available until 8.00pm to speak with parents. Please be aware this is not a ‘Parent’s Evening’ and it would not be appropriate to ask the teacher about your child’s academic progress in their class at this early stage in the year. Thank You
