Grade-Level Advisory on 1st Tuesdays Advisories will be meeting online in Zoom on Tuesday, October 1st at 2:15 pm to discuss upcoming advisory assignments, counselor notes, and grade-level specific information. For this session on Oct. 1st, Miss Mickey will be addressing test anxiety.   4. Quarter 1 We are halfway through first quarter. Take some time to reflect on how you are doing in each course. Are you on target? If not, what changes need to be made? The late work deadline for Quarter 1 is October 11th. All of quarter 1 assignments will be locked down at 11:59 on October 11th. Be sure you have a plan in place to be current in your courses for the quarter 1 deadline.

  5. Project Pride is a theatre group that is targeted toward LGBTQ awareness and support. The group is called Project Pride and is done through the Coterie Theatre in Kansas City.  They are looking for new members as they are short on members this year.  It is for anyone in the LGBTQ community and allies.  Anyone in this category between the ages of 13 and 18 that has not yet graduated from high school is welcome. • They have started rehearsals but are in the very early stages and would love to add some new people. Best part all grades are included and it is FREE! Please arrive at the Eagle Bend Golf Course which is right down the road from LVS around 9:45 a.m. We will check in together out front and wait to enter the golf course together. It will start promptly at 10 a.m. Please be sure to bring a picnic lunch with you that day if you plan on staying to eat together after the lab. I need to get an accurate head count for the golf course so please RSVP your family no later than Friday, October 4th. We look forward to seeing you for a fun morning of learning. We will soon be administering the PreACT 8/9 to ALL 9th grade students. • The purpose of the test is to simulate the ACT so that students, teachers, and parents can gain earlier insight to students’ strengths and weaknesses. • PreACT 8/9 provides early indication of progress to help guide action plans and opportunities for early interventions. • PreACT 8/9 reports include information about career possibilities, based on student answers to the interest inventory, which students can use to start thinking about their futures. PreACT 8/9 reports also provide career suggestions based on students’ interests and strengths and provides an indicator of progress toward the ACT National Career Readiness standards. • Testing will take place at testing locations around Kansas on Friday, October 18. • Stay tuned to find out where you will need to report to test. • Look for more information regarding the PreACT 8/9 in your Advisory course or reach out to your homeroom teacher. • More questions?
