  16. MA-SCSEP Program Mission Authorized by Congress in Title V of the Older Americans Act of 1965 to: • Enable older low-income job seekers to become financially self-sufficient and • Provide valuable community service to strengthen communities

  17. Program Goals • Help SCSEP participants obtain unsubsidized employment • Through community service assignment at a local no-profit 503 c or government agency • Through class-room based or skill training • Other supportive services (transportation, clothing etc)

  22. Program Eligibility Eligible Participants: • 55 years of age or older • Unemployed • Have a family income that is not more than 125% of the federal poverty income guidelines Facts: SCSEP funding serves less than 1% of eligible population
