  2. Background • Sir Isaac Newton was born on the 25th of December in 1642. • He was born in Lincolnshire, England • He attended Cambridge University class 1661 • His mother’s name is Hannah Ayscough

  3. Mathematics Newton made contributions to all branches of mathematics then studied, but is especially famous for his solutions to the contemporary problems in analytical geometry of drawing tangents to curves (differentiation) and defining areas bounded by curves (integration).

  4. Optics From 1670 to 1672, Newton lectured on optics. During this period he investigated the refraction of light. He also invented the reflective telescope.

  5. Laws of Motion • Isaac created the 3 Laws of Motion • The first Law was called Inertia it states that an object at rest tends to stay at rest and that an object in uniform motion tends to stay in uniform motion unless you move it. • The second Law was called a state of Gravity it states that an object is pulled towards the surface of earth and can only be defined by another force. • The third Law was called every action there is an equal and opposite reaction it states that every time an action happens there is an equal and opposite reaction.

  6. Mathematics impact on the Earth • His mathematics helped the earth by helping us solve contemporary problems in analytical geometry of drawing tangents to curves (differentiation) and defining areas bounded by curves (integration).

  7. Optics Impact on the Earth • It impacted the earth by helping us see stuff up in the universe like stars , planets, and comets etc.

  8. Laws of Motion impact on Earth • The way the Laws of Motion impacted earth was by informing humans about gravity. It also helps us understand for every action the is a equal and opposite reaction. Lastly it helps us understand Inertia stays at rest unless moved.
