  1. D E C E P T A C O N Pitch Rosie C, Holly, Katie and Liz.

  2. Original Video • This is the original video for Deceptacon by Le Tigre. • It features a very simple and rather repetitive dance of two men dressed in ‘odd’ outfits. • We feel that this video does not show the song to it’s best advantage and although it is quite amusing at first, a whole song of this is dull. • The video doesn’t represent anything to do with the song and there is no narrative behind it, which we think would be much better.

  3. Why we should recreate this video… The Video isn’t very entertaining and we think we could make it entertaining! In our group the song is very popular and we would be excited to do it and therefore work hard. We think the song represents us as a niche market, so we would know what our audience wants.

  4. The Angel Hotel in Halesworth, in the Bar doing shots = Camera placed at the end of the bar, then each person takes it in turns to do a shot in quick concession. One of our houses mainly in the bedroom, where we are getting ready to go out on a girls night. Walking through Halesworth Thoroughfare laughing and joking on our way out = Long shots from behind and in front, quick close up to show the closeness of the girls. Locations The dance studio at The New Cut in Halesworth (maybe) = used for the shots of the singer performing the song. Lots of short, quick shots to show the energy of the song. In the Thoroughfare again at the end of the night = Camera on the ground showing just the heels of the girls as they walk away from the camera. Barman saying ‘How are you?’ a line from the song and one of the girls answering with, ‘Fine thank you!’ = Use over the shoulder shot.

  5. The Singer = Quite a quirky style, very bold make up and bright clothes The Girls = Party dresses, heels and glamorous make-up. Costume Shot glasses Lots of alcohol Mise en Scene Props House = Light will be quite bright and make everything look colourful as they are getting ready Make-up lying around in the bedroom, clothes, generally messy. Pub = Will be softer, but still illuminate everything with a more subtle glow Lighting Street = Much less light from street lamps, but will have to use own artificial light to make it look good

  6. Existing Girl Singer Looks

  7. Idea Summary Instrumental and first verse narrative parts feature around girls getting ready for a night out together. Many shots showing classic things that represent a girls night out - make up, clothes, shoes, drink etc Song will be part of the narrative as the girls would have it on in the background, singing along - shows how the song is engaging for audience of that age and girls. Also in this part will be the singer in some shots, quite a quirky look and very active dancing and singing - big hair, very bold make up and bright clothes, heels. Special effects - On the shot for the lyrics ‘I can see your DISCO, DISCO!’ we are going to use animation text over the shot of the words disco, to make it interesting

  8. The singer shots continue throughout the video, where specific lyrics stand out we will have these shots of her singing to fit with the song. After getting ready the girls are then leaving the house ‘Wanna Disco? Wanna see me disco?’ - On these lyrics, the girls will be asking this to each other so it links the narrative and the actual song again. Will be dancing (still at home) when they ask this. ‘One! Two! Three! Four!’ - The girls are now leaving the house and on each number they step out of the door one at a time to create a beat with the song. Then have the girls walking into town together - very loud, laughing with each other, asking each other for lip gloss etc On their way they bump into boys - flirting with each other = ‘I take you home, now watch me get you hot.’ Girls go into pub - shot reverse shot going through the doors. Go into toilets to ‘freshen up’ - write on the mirrors with lipstick - use the mirrors to create some interesting camera shots.

  9. Then use a shot from the end of a bar showing just the girls hand with shots in a line - then they drink their shot in a staggered line and slam the glass back down. ‘How are you? Fine thank you! How are you? Fine thank you!’ Girls then stay at the pub just drinking together and having a good night! Lots of drinks pile up on the table to show they’ve had a good night. Lyrics maybe indicate some sort of relationship that didn’t work or they got bored so one girl has a photo of a boy which they can rip up and the girls celebrate over it with a toast For this part of the song, the barman is going to ask one of the girls the question and then they answer in a really girly and flirtatious way.

  10. More shots of the singer near the end - ‘Who took the bomp from the bompalampalomp? . . ’ Girls leave the pub to the lyrics - ‘See you later, see you later…’ Finishes with the girls walking down the street on their way home - camera shot on the ground to just show the girls legs and shoes as they ‘stumble’ off. When the music stops there will be a few seconds of the girls just laughing as they walk away from the camera. Hope you like our idea and will please consider it Thank You
