ADOT&PF and AKOSH Partner to Reduce Work Comp Rates and Enhance Safety Programs

On November 22, 2004, a partnering agreement was signed between ADOT&PF and AKOSH aimed at reducing Work Comp rates over five years. Key goals include lowering injuries, improving safety and health programs, better resource utilization, promoting management engagement, and enhancing employee involvement. In 2005, 47 facility inspections were conducted, and a 5% reduction in Work Comp costs was targeted. A newly developed safety program was regularly discussed, and an Employee Concerns Program addressed safety issues, resulting in a significant decrease in costs from over $4 million in 2004 to nearly $2.9 million in 2005.
