Learning Objectives • Understand the principles of the English Language Course and engage with texts • Understand the principles of linguistic study • Apply some of the concepts to texts in an insightful and perceptive manner Success Criteria • Use some linguistic techniques when comparing texts • Use linguistic techniques to compare texts perceptively • Use linguistic techniques to analyse, evaluate and compare texts with tentativeness

  9. For September . . . . • Collect 6 texts from various sources (adverts, transcripts, posters, and highlight the significant lexis, semantic and pragmatic meanings in each.
