  11. Characteristics of Vertebrates • Are the largest group of chordates. • Have an internal system of bones called an endoskeleton (inside) • Change as the surrounding temperature changes (ectotherms-cold blooded) • Remain constant regardless of temperature (endotherms-warm blooded)
