The Hima Fund (HF), established in Doha, Qatar in May 2008 and operational since 2009, aims to revive and promote the traditional Hima system based on Islamic values. Founded by HH Sheikha Jawaher, the initiative focuses on protecting endangered birds and their habitats in 12 countries, including 6 GCC nations and 6 Middle Eastern countries. By promoting community-based practices linked to livelihoods, eco-tourism, and education, HF strives to restore the role of Islam in nature conservation and enhance local capacities for sustainable environmental practices.

Sponsoring protection of 3 endangered birds in 4 countries (Jordan, Lebanon, Oman & Qatar) costing $150,000. Updating & assessing status & threats facing 25 IBAs in 8 countries by Nature Iraq, costing $ 30,000. HF Major Achievements
Financially assisting Birdlife International in organizing its World Bird Conference in Canada (June 2013), including participation of 10 delegates from ME (costing $76,000). Financially assisting IUCN organizing this Hima Forum, including participation of some delegates from ME (costing $ 10,000)
Formulating a Fund Raising Strategy (FRS) in collaboration with IUCN & Birdlife. Implementing a FRS focusing on private sector & Environmental VIPs.
