  3. Leonardo’s Location Leonardo Da Vinci lived in a little Italian village named of Vinci in Florence.

  4. Leonardo’s Fame Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian painter and a genius in many ways of science. He is best known for his two paintings: the “Mona Lisa” and “The Last Supper.”

  5. Leonardo’s “Mona Lisa” Most people know that Mona Lisa painting is created by Leonardo da Vinci, but the identity of the woman still remains unknown. The original name of the painting is Monna Lisa, it was a common Italian shortening of Madonna, meaning "my lady.” Leonardo’s painting was completed sometime between 1505 and 1507.The painting now is in the Louvre Museum in Paris and is protected in a climate controlled environment and encased in bullet proof glass which caused seven million dollars to built the room.  

  6. Leonardo’s “The Last Supper” He began working on it in 1495 and finished it in 1498. Leonardo’s Last Supper is a visual interpretation of an event that happened in all four of the Gospels.The evening before Christ was betrayed by one of his disciples, he gathered them together to eat, and tell them he knew what was coming and wash their feet. As they ate and drank together, Christ gave the disciples clear instructions on how to eat and drink in the future, in remembrance of him.

Leonardo’s “Vitruvian Man” Around the year 1487, he made a famous drawing called Vitruvian Man.The drawing illustrated some observations on the nature of a man’s body. • The palm is the width of four fingers.• The length of a man’s foot is one-sixth of his height.• The length of a man’s outspread arms is the same as his height.

  8. Leonardo’s Helicopter invention Leonardo’s creation, the helicopter, also known as the Arial- Screw. It was the first ever helicopter concept. He wanted to achieve flight and further explore the potential of the screw/spiral shape. Leonardo said ‘If this instrument made with a screw be well made – that is to say, made of linen of which the pores are stopped up with starch and be turned swiftly , the said screw will make its spiral in the air and it will rise high. ‘

  9. Leonardo’s Anatomy Sketches In 1508 Leonardo really started in depth studies on the human body and how it worked. He wanted to observe more than just the automatic workings, the emotions and feelings were important too. His notebooks from this time are full of explanations of the anatomy.
