  4. Cooinda Lodge Warragul: Residential Aged Care Facility – (60 beds) • Andrew’s House Trafalgar: Residential Aged Care Facility - (50 beds) • Community Health Centres in Warragul, Drouin, Trafalgar and Rawson • District Nurse Clinics in Warragul, Drouin, Longwarry, Trafalgar & Neerim South

  5. 2013 Intakes • 1st intake-Tuesday 29th January • 2nd intake-Tuesday 12th March Intakes 6 weeks apart and 1st or 2nd intake is negotiated at interview (preferences considered but not guaranteed) 8 positions- general program 1 positions -aged care program 4 positions double degree- (gen/mid)program 1 position -midwifery

Academic Components • Continual professional development (Five paid 8 hour study days) • Grief & Bereavement • CVAD (central venous access device) • Pain management • Respiratory care & therapies • Wound management • Monthly tutorials (one hour) • Short presentation during one of the Tutorial days

  7. Ward based assessments • Medication administration • Manual handling • Documentation audit • PCA competency • Syringe driver competency • IV cannulation (elective)

  8. Program Assessments • Infection control • Drug calculations • Annual BLS Competency • My Work Plan x 2 per year • Clinical Performance Tool (feedback from preceptors)

  10. IMPORTANT DATES 2012 • 30th May - GNP Computer Match Opens • 26th July - Closing date for applications • August - September WGHG Interviews • 20th September - Withdrawal/Change ofPreferencedue • 15th October - Computer match results released
