  1. True Riches What Are They?

  2. True Riches Most of you know that Bill Gates is the richest man in the U.S. He is worth $59 billion. Four others in the U.S. have $26 billion or more. Another 24 have at least $14 billion. 200 people in the U.S. have at least $3 billion each. And almost 400 people have more than $1 billion. But do any of these people have “true riches”? Some of them probably have no idea what “true riches” are.

  3. True Riches Jesus came to this earth that we might be rich.

  4. 2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.

  5. True Riches Jesus came to this earth that we might be rich. God has the wealth to make us rich. But He is not concerned with making us millionaires or billionaires. Rather, He wants to bless us with true riches. Moses appreciated true riches.

  6. Hebrews 11:24-26 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.

  7. True Riches Jesus came to this earth that we might be rich. God has the wealth to make us rich. But He is not concerned with making us millionaires or billionaires. Rather, He wants to bless us with true riches. Moses appreciated true riches. Let us look at the riches God has to offer us.

  8. The Riches of God’s Goodness • Goodness in the Sense of “Generosity” • God’s Goodness Is Universal.

  9. Psalm 145:9 The LORD is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.

  10. The Riches of God’s Goodness • Goodness in the Sense of “Generosity” • God’s Goodness Is Universal. • God’s Goodness Leads to Repentance.

  11. Romans 2:1-2 Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things.

  12. Romans 2:3-4 And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God? Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

  13. The Riches of God’s Goodness • Goodness in the Sense of “Generosity” • God’s Goodness Is Universal. • God’s Goodness Leads to Repentance. • God’s Goodness Is Manifested in: • Material blessings

  14. Matthew 6:25-26 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

  15. Matthew 6:27-29 “Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like on of these.

  16. Matthew 6:30-31 “Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

  17. Matthew 6:32-33 “For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

  18. The Riches of God’s Goodness • Goodness in the Sense of “Generosity” • God’s Goodness Is Universal. • God’s Goodness Leads to Repentance. • God’s Goodness Is Manifested in: • Material blessings • Spiritual blessings

  19. Ephesians 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,

  20. Ephesians 1:5-6 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved.

  21. The Riches of God’s Grace • Grace is “undeserved favor.”

  22. Romans 4:1-4 What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh? For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.

  23. Romans 11:5-6 Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

  24. The Riches of God’s Grace • Grace is “undeserved favor.” • Grace describes God’s attitude toward lawbreakers and rebels. • God’s grace is a factor in our forgiveness.

  25. Ephesians 1:7-10 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth--in Him.

  26. The Riches of God’s Grace • Grace is “undeserved favor.” • Grace describes God’s attitude toward lawbreakers and rebels. • God’s grace is a factor in our forgiveness. • God’s grace exceeds our expectations.

  27. Ephesians 2:4-7 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

  28. Ephesians 3:20-21 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

  29. The Riches of God’s Grace • Grace is “undeserved favor.” • Grace describes God’s attitude toward lawbreakers and rebels. • God’s grace is a factor in our forgiveness. • God’s grace exceeds our expectations. • God’s grace has appeared to all men.

  30. Titus 2:11-12 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,

  31. Titus 2:13-14 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
