The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience IAESTE IAESTEwas founded in 1948 at Imperial College, London on the initiative of the Imperial College Vacation Work Committee; Each year IAESTEorganiseGeneral Conference, for 85 member countires, then each coutry organise National Conference, where we divide internship offers for our Local Committies, and then internship offer goes to proper student; IAESTEallows you to attend abroad internship, fully paid, always in English, in all member countires and during the internship Local Committee of the Country where you have gone to takes care of you.   7. Accessing Poland to EU T RA V E L ME E T NEW F R I END S Accession of Poland to the European Union took place in May 2004. Poland had been negotiating with the EU since 1989. COLLECT E X P R I E N C E

  8. Copenhagen criteria T RA V E L ME E T NEW F R I END S 1. That candidate countries achieve stable institutions that guarantee democracy, legality, human rights and respect for and protection of minorities. 2. That candidate countries have a working market economy, capable of competing effectively on EU markets. 3. That candidate countries are capable of accepting all the membership responsibilities, political, economic and monetary. COLLECT E X P R I E N C E

  9. In our country there was a discussion about advantages and disadvantages of our accession to the EU. In opinion of youth in Polandthere is more benefits than defects of it.   10. Youth in Poland T RA V E L ME E T NEW F R I END S COLLECT E X P R I E N C E • In Poland young people aged between 15 and 29 years is more than 22%.

  11. Easy access to education which is on a very good level. They do not have complexes in international relations and are very open as a society. Young people in Poland very often take independent initiatives.   12. About 400.000 new jobs have been created due to european stimulation programs, on the one hand by direct measures, on the other hand by investment programs which augmented the needs of new jobs. Employment T RA V E L ME E T NEW F R I END S COLLECT E X P R I E N C E

  14. 2,3 million polish people are supported within the European Social Fund. More than 500.000 employees have been able to amplify their qualifications with professional training and 630.000 unemployed people have been able to participate in retrainings.   15. Owing to the EU-funds, Polish agriculturists have had the possibility to access funds of more than10 billion EURO (2006). Besides agriculture, the infrastructure has been improved, particularly by building and enlarging motorways, ring roads and the railroad network.   16. Because of EU accession, young people started to feel that they can do something.They try to improve the situation of Poland by doing local projects.
