  1. What Are Poker Rankings?

  2. Every game has rules that all players must obey. Following them makes the game organised, fun, and enjoyable. Games can be played with a group of colleagues, friends, or even relatives where the bond strengthens along with togetherness. Success and failure is part and parcel of poker games. There are 52 cards in a pack of poker. A poker hand is made of five cards. The ranking is in descending order – Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2. The King of Hearts is equal to the King of Spades. Based on these poker rankings, the higher category beats a lower one: 1.Royal flush –It is the highest poker hand and consists of Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and ten all in the same suit. All the suits are equal to the royal flushes. 2.Straight flush – It consists of five cards of the same suit in sequence such as - 8- 7. Between two straight flushes, the card with the highest rank is considered. Cards cannot be considered in the reverse flush format. J- 10- 9- 3.Four of a kind –They are four cards of the same rank, like four Queens. The fifth card can be of any category. Between two fours of a kind, the set with the higher numerical value wins. 4.Full house – They are three cards of one rank and two of another. For example, thee sevens and two tens. During the comparison, the numerical ranking is considered where the higher numerical value wins. 5.Flush –They are five cards of the same suit where the numerically higher card is considered during a tie. For example, K- J- 9- 3- nine beats the seven. 2 beats K- J- 7- 6- 5 because the 6.Straight – It consists of five cards of mixed suits in sequential order - 8. When two sequences are compared, the one with the higher ranking top card ends up as the winner. Q- J- 10- 9- 7.Three of a kind – These are three cards of the same rank along with two other cards, known as Triplets or Trips. The higher ranking is considered when they are compared. 8.Two pairs – It consists of two cards, or a pair, of equal rank. A hand with two pairs of different ranking cards and one odd card to make five cards is also considered. When comparing them, the highest pair wins, irrespective of the card ranking. So, J-J-2-2- 4 beats 10-10-9-9-8 because jacks beat the tens.

  3. 9.Pair – It is a hand of two cards of equal rank and three other cards which do not match them. For example, 6-6-4-3-2 beats 5-5-A-K-Q. 10.High card – They are five cards which do not form any of the poker hand combinations listed above. The better highest card wins. For example, A-J-9-5-3 beats A-10-9-6-4 because the jack beats the ten. Every game has a secret formula to victory. Many players use some poker tricks to win the game, some of which are listed: 1.Identify the weaker players in the game. Focus on defeating them to win the pot. 2.Observe the gaming method and strategy of the person who is winning all the chips. 3.Draw an empathy map of every player. Observe their strengths, weaknesses, visions, sensory abilities, etc.
