SERVICES OFFERED: -Market studies -Development of the business plan -Protection of intellectual property rights and registration of patents -Training for the entrepreneurs -Selection of the management team -Access to resources: risk capital or industrial partners

Consortium with: • Techminho, Guimaraes (PORTUGAL) • Area Science Park, Trieste (ITALY) • 16 Quasi-E running. • 6 of them incorporated as spin-off companies. • Research areas: • Computational linguistics. • Applied Economy studies. • Museology, architecture. • Biotechnology. • Chemistry: organic, electrochemistry, analysis. • Pharmacy: formulation services, nutritional services

The University of Barcelona’s Model for Supporting Start-Ups October 5, 2004 Centre d’Innovació, Fundació Bosch i Gimpera - Universitat de Barcelona • Technological Trampolines Programme: description • Programme created in 2001 by CIDEM (Catalan government) and most of the Universities in Catalonia. • OBJECTIVE: To promote entrepreneurship in technologically innovative projects. • How does it work? • Each University creates a Technological Trampoline to • Evaluate ideas. • Assist entrepreneurs to develop their projects. • Incubate new projects financed by the programme. • CIDEM evaluates projects coming from Universities and finances up to 60% of the project (max. € 100,000). • Entrepreneurs must finance 40% of the project.
