  2. Theme Passage Heb 1 3 The Son is the radiance of God's glory & the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in Heaven. NIV

  3. 1) God is a God of Unlimited Power- Isaiah 26 4 Trust in the Lord forever, For in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength.

  4. 1) God is a God of Unlimited Power- Isaiah 26 5 For He brings down those who dwell on high, The lofty city; He lays it low, He lays it low to the ground, He brings it down to the dust.

  5. God is not powerful in the sense of earned or given power, He is all-powerful. All power means that there is no other who can challenge Him, but all are under His power.

  6. I Chron 29 11 Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven & in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, & You are exalted as head over all.

  7. I Chron 29 12 Both riches & honor come from You, & You reign over all. In Your hand is power & might; In Your hand it is to make great & to give strength to all.

  8. It is only God’s power… It is only God’s power that can bring life from death, healing from hurt, peace from pain…

  9. It is only God’s power… It is only in God’s power that we can make it from Earth to Heaven, be conveyed from darkness to light & go from being sinful to sanctified. It is only God’s power that has the right to call us to love Him first of all, serve Him over all & seek Him above all.

  10. Do I believe that God is powerful, above everyone and everything, or am I more fearful of the world and all that is in it?

  11. 2) Jesus Shows God’s Power- Matt 8 23 Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. 24 And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep.

  12. 2) Jesus Shows God’s Power- Matt 8 25 Then His disciples came to Him & awoke Him, saying, "Lord, save us! We are perishing!" 26 But He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" …

  13. 2) Jesus Shows God’s Power- Matt 8 26 …Then He arose & rebuked the winds & the sea, & there was a great calm. 27 So the men marveled, saying, "Who can this be, that even the winds & the sea obey Him?"

  14. Jesus embodied God’s power- over the winds, the waves, over sin, over evil and over death. While many doubted Him, as many do today, He did more than talk about God’s power, He showed it.

  15. Mark 1 25 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet, & come out of him!" 26 And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him & cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him.

  16. Mark 1 27 Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, "What is this? What new doctrine is this? For with authority He commands even the unclean spirits, & they obey Him."

  17. Acts 10 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit & with power, who went about doing good & healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

  18. Now Jesus gives the power of His presence to us… Eph 1 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power
