  1. ChoreographyIt takes a lot of time, effort and creativity to be able to work this area. It is major art form. They are in charge of choosing the outfits, the lighting, the dance, teaching the other dancers and casting. You are the manager of the whole production, so you have to be a well organized person and persistent. Dancers work in many different types of environments. From theatres, music videos, opera, and television. Lexy Thornitt

  2. Why am I Interested? • I am interested in this career because I’d always wanted to be a dancer. I took lessons as a child, and pursued again in high school for grade nine. I was considering this job because it is active and it’s a job that comes from the heart. Your heart and soul is what moves you in this occupation. It is a very touching experience to become a dancer. It suits my personality because I have a lot of feelings that I have taken out while I dance. I have choreographed my own dances before and it was actually quite good. I have strengths in the area of movement and it would just over all be good for me.

  3. Education. Education. <3 • Some colleges offer degrees in the art of dance it’s not necessary to make a career out of it. Besides if you are looking to teach at a school or at a university. Most dancers begin their hobby as a child. It takes years and years of training to become professional. And even when you get there, you never stop learning. Most have auditions by 17 if they are going to make a profession out of it.

  4. Working Conditions. • Dancers put in long, hard-working days. Risk of injuries in this occupation is pretty common. And ankle problems are quite common. You can easily break, fracture, or sprain bones and muscles in your body. This job doesn’t really have a time of year that it is suitable, because it is year-round. It can consist of being outdoors, but is most common indoors; e.g. On a stage.

  5. Salary & Future Outlook. You would expect to be making around $21.20 dated back from 2008 by the Statistics Canada. • This job will always be in demand. I say that because dancers are needed in many areas. Like in music videos, in television shows, in Broadway productions, in high-schools, in college schools and just around the community.

  6. Related Occupations If I was to not succeed in choreography, the next best thing after that would be to go into training. So that I could pursue in choreography.
