Phlogopite Mica and Muscovite Mica Know the Differences

Mica is a naturally occurring mineral-based on a group of silicate materials that includes 37 phyllosilicate minerals. Out of them, only two are used for industrial insulation applications: Phlogopite Mica and Muscovite Mica. Read below to learn about the capabilities of both Muscovite and Phlogopite Mica and how the two differ.

  1. Phlogopite Mica Phlogopite Mica And Muscovite Mica Muscovite Mica: : Know Differences Differences! ! And Know The The Mica is a naturally occurring mineral-based on a group of silicate materials that includes 37 phyllosilicate minerals. Out of them, only two are used for industrial insulation applications: Phlogopite Mica and Muscovite Mica. Read below to learn about the capabilities of both Muscovite and Phlogopite Mica and how the two differ. Phlogopite Mica

  2. Phlogopite Mica is used for thermal insulation applications in a wide range of industries due to its impressive thermal stability. Mica sheets made from Phlogopite Mica are stable up to temperatures reaching 900°C. Phlogopite Mica also has considerable dielectric strength but is preferred for thermal insulation applications. Phlogopite Mica varies in color from light silver to dark brown and is commonly referred to as Amber Mica. Muscovite Mica Muscovite Mica is used for electrical insulation applications in a wide variety of industries due to its amazing dielectric properties. Mica sheets made of Muscovite Mica have a high dielectric strength of 25 kV/mm at 20°C and 10 kV/mm at 600°C. It surpasses all other forms of mica in dielectric strength, mechanical strength, resilience, toughness, and perfection of cleavage that make them ideal for electrical devices. It is available in two color ranges: Ruby and Green. Phlogopite and Muscovite Mica can be used to make both rigid and flexible sheets. Visit and Contact Us info@aximmica.com (516) 248-0045
