  6. Hertz Complaint J1 My wife and I rented a car in Italy in late September. We drove it for a week with no accidents, moving violations or parking tickets. I dropped the car back off at Pisa, full of gas and cleaner than I got it. On December 6th a charge for $47.99 appeared on my credit card. When I called Hertz they said it was an admin fee because the Italian police asked who the vehicle was rented to. They would not provide me the name of the requestor, the police department, jurisdiction, location or nature of the request nor would they give me any proof that such a claim was made, and steadfastly refused to remove the charge. The customer service representative was clearly reciting the company line until she finally suggested, under her breath, that I should dispute the charge through my credit card company. The way she said it gave me the impression this was not the first time she had encountered this and that she knew the charge was bogus. Just charge someone $47.99 with no explanation and no proof; what a scam! Never again will I rent from Hertz.
  7. Hertz Complaint J2 On April 3rd I made a reservation of Car rental through Priceline.com and paid in full for a week rental at LAX California - The company was HertzRental Car. I picked the Car up on April 4-2010, I certainly declined all the services offered by HerztPersonels, returned the car on April 9-2010 on time. In May statement of my America Express, I saw a charged of 117.00 by Herzt, I was shock and contact Priceline.com to ask them to query Hertz forme because I only rented the car through Priceline.com not Hertz, and I also call AE to didpute the charge. Priceline reponse to me and said it was a LDW (Liability Insurance ) which I was flatly denied to pay for it at the counter, I was upset that Priceline did not offer any help beyond this matter. Hertz has committed fraudulent business practice to gouge their own customer this way, ! it was a sad act for a big Corporation like this ! I will not rest until it resolve. In the mean time I will let anybody know to stay away frome Priceline.com and Hertz, because of their predator business practices
