  1. The Valley of Conflict • Many a biblical battle was fought in a valley. • Israel fought in the Valley of Aijalon.

  2. Joshua 10:12-13 Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel: "Sun, stand still over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon." So the sun stood still, And the moon stopped, Till the people had revenge Upon their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.

  3. The Valley of Conflict • Many a biblical battle was fought in a valley. • Israel fought in the Valley of Aijalon. • Both Saul & David fought in the Valley of Elah.

  4. 1 Samuel 17:2 And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and they encamped in the Valley of Elah, and drew up in battle array against the Philistines.

  5. 1 Samuel 21:8-9 And David said to Ahimelech, "Is there not here on hand a spear or a sword? For I have brought neither my sword nor my weapons with me, because the king's business required haste." So the priest said, "The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom you killed in the Valley of Elah, there it is, wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod. If you will take that, take it. For there is no other except that one here." And David said, "There is none like it; give it to me."

  6. The Valley of Conflict • Many a biblical battle was fought in a valley. • Israel fought in the Valley of Aijalon. • Both Saul & David fought in the Valley of Elah. • Many battles were fought in the Valley of Megiddo.

  7. The Valley of Conflict • Many a biblical battle was fought in a valley. • Israel fought in the Valley of Aijalon. • Both Saul & David fought in the Valley of Elah. • Many battles were fought in the Valley of Megiddo. So much so that Armageddon became symbolic for the place of spiritual warfare.

  8. Revelation 16:16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.

  9. • We have many battles to fight in life. The life of a Christian is a battle.

  10. 2 Timothy 4:6-8 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.

  11. 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

  12. The Valley of Conflict • Many a biblical battle was fought in a valley. • Jesus came to bring victory in our valley. • He is the captain of our salvation.

  13. Hebrews 2:10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

  14. The Valley of Conflict • Many a biblical battle was fought in a valley. • Jesus came to bring victory in our valley. • He is the captain of our salvation. • He has given us armor for the conflict.

  15. Ephesians 6:10-13 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

  16. Ephesians 6:14-18 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints--

  17. 2 Corinthians 10:4-6 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

  18. The Valley of Conflict • Many a biblical battle was fought in a valley. • Jesus came to bring victory in our valley. • He is the captain of our salvation. • He has given us armor for the conflict. • He will give us victory.

  19. Romans 7:24-25 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God--through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

  20. 1 Corinthians 15:51-53 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed-- in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

  21. 1 Corinthians 15:54-57 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory.""O Death, where is your sting?O Hades, where is your victory?" The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

  22. 1 Corinthians 15:54-57 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory.""O Death, where is your sting?O Hades, where is your victory?" The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
