  2. The Article • Outlines Singapore’s plan to cater to 6.9million in population come 2030 • States the fears and concerns of different parties towards this matter

  3. The Average Reader! • Reads tidbits of information • Walls of text is a no-no! • Tends to read in a F shape

  4. F Reading in the F-shape, first few phrases catch the attention and summarize the paragraph!

  5. INVERTED PYRAMID- Get to the point first!- Elaborate later!- Capture attention! Use simple words and sentences! This is no essay!

  6. Include proof to support any claims! Give credit!

  7. Instead of writing different quotes that may last paragraphs long, present points In bullet form and make sure to do your best to tell the “story” BE CONCISE!

  8. Before and After • Close to 1,400 words • Points were all over the place and so were counter-arguments • 300 words (almost an 80% reduction!) • Points were presented in an orderly fashion to show rebuttals
