  2. Basilica du Sacre-Coeur is a church located on the highest point in the city of Montmarte.

  3. Basilica du Sacre-Coeur’s inspiration for design originated in the wake of the division in frenchsociety after the French Revolution. It was built about a century ago. Construction began in 1875 and was finished in 1914. It took about 40 years to build. The church was built by public subscriptions.

  4. Q: How much does it cost to visit the Basilica? A:Independent tours range from 3 to 8 euros. Although entrance to the Basilica and Crypt are free for everyone.

  5. FUN FACTS! • During WWI, 13 bombs are said to have landed on the church. • The church was dedicated to the sacred heart of Jesus • It is located at the highest point of the city in Montmarte
